CITY girl Shreya Agarwal brought laurels by winning a bronze medal in 10th Asian Air Gun Shooting Championship held in Japan. Shreya clinched bronze medal in the 10-metre Air Rifle, Youth Category. She is student of Symbiosis Higher Secondary School and is being trained at Gun for Glory Shooting Academy.

Shreya has been pursuing her passion for shooting for only two years and was selected in the talent hunt drive organised by Gun for Glory. Shreya has bagged Gold and Silver medals in various National Level Competitions She was selected in Government of India’s new initiative ‘Khelo India’ in the first round.

Shreya is the first shooter from the city to be selected in the Indian team for this competition. On being asked about her success, Shreya owes it to her sense of balance between her studies and her passion for the sport. Shreya’s elder brother Yash Agarwal is also a National Level Pistol Shooter. Her father works in the Provident Fund Office while her mother Meena Agarwal is a teacher. She has been practicing under Coach Nishant Nathwani, Gun for Glory Shooting Academy.
